Long-range single-cell DECT base plus one W78H ruggedized handset, extended outdoor range up to 600m, indoor range up to 70m, IP54-rated handset for dust and splash resistance, PoE-capable base. The W78P is the cordless bundle for outdoor courtyards, warehouse yards, and rural single-site deployments.
The W78P is what you buy when the W73P's single-cell range is not enough but you do not want to commit to a multi-cell deployment. The long-range base extends coverage to roughly 70m indoor and 600m outdoor — useful for warehouse yards, agricultural sites, building exteriors, parking lots, and rural deployments where a single building has a large coverage need but the budget cannot justify multi-cell infrastructure.
The W78H handset is the practical differentiator: IP54 rating means it survives dust ingress and water splashes, which matters in industrial settings, food service back-of-house, and outdoor crew use. The W73H handset's plastic chassis would fail in those environments within months; the W78H is designed for them.
Where to choose this over W76P multi-cell: any deployment where a single longer-range base solves the problem more cheaply than multiple shorter-range bases. A warehouse 100m long can be covered by one W78P base placed centrally; the W76P would require two W80B bases plus the configuration work to handle roaming. For non-roaming-required large-coverage cases, the W78P is the simpler, cheaper answer.
Where to skip it: indoor offices that fit within a single W73P cell. The long-range capability is only useful if you need it — for typical small offices, the W73P costs $80 less and has identical functionality within its range.

Plug the W78P into PoE and ethernet. About a minute later it has registered to your extension. Same auto-provisioning flow as every other supported phone — no SIP credentials to type, no firmware to chase.
Boot, fetch config from our provisioning server, register, ready. About one minute on a normal connection.
Multi-line per phone. Each line key has a dual-color LED for status at a glance.
Programmable mapped from the voip.army portal — BLF, paging, parking, transfer destinations.
Bringing your own? Send us the MAC, factory-reset, plug in. No charge to add it to the fleet.
Standard PoE — any 802.3af-compliant switch from the last 15 years powers the phone without an adapter.
Tested against every Yealink firmware release for W78P. We catch regressions before they reach your fleet.
