Pricing & billing

Three plans: Starter $19/user/month ($16/user/month annual) for solo and small teams of 1–4; Business $34/user/month ($28/user/month annual) for growing offices of 5–25 — most customers pick this; Pro $49/user/month ($41/user/month annual) for multi-location, 25+ users, or compliance needs (HIPAA, signed BAA, 7-year recording retention). All plans include unlimited US/Canada calling, mobile and desktop apps, voicemail-to-email, and US-based support. No setup fees, no regulatory recovery surcharges, no contracts required. See full pricing.
No. voip.army is month-to-month at the published price. You can cancel any month — your final bill is prorated. Most cloud VoIP competitors (RingCentral, Nextiva, 8x8, GoTo) require a 12-month annual contract to give you the discounted rate they advertise; we don't.
No regulatory recovery fees, no infrastructure surcharges, no per-feature add-on lottery. Our quoted price is what you pay. State and federal telecom taxes are itemized (~6–10% depending on your state, mandated by law) — but these are taxes, not vendor fees.
Yes — 30 days, no credit card to start. If voip.army doesn't fit, cancel and pay nothing. After the trial, every plan also includes a 30-day money-back guarantee: if you cancel within 30 days of paying, we refund every dollar — no forms, no phone tag.

Phone numbers & porting

Yes. Number porting is free. Local numbers transfer in 1–3 business days; toll-free numbers in 5–7. Your existing carrier cannot block a valid Letter of Authorization (LOA). Your old service stays active right up until the cutover, so no calls are missed during the transition. More on porting.
Yes. You can add additional phone numbers ($5/month each) for separate departments, ad campaigns, satellite offices, or vanity / toll-free numbers. Each number can route to its own auto-attendant, ring group, or user. Real estate agents use per-listing tracking numbers; restaurants separate takeout from reservations; medical practices separate billing from appointments.
Yes. Toll-free numbers (800, 888, 877, 866, 855, 844, 833) are $10/month. Vanity searches (e.g., 1-800-MYOFFICE) are free; if a specific vanity is available you can claim it. Local numbers in your area code are included free with every user.

Setup, hardware & internet

First call placed: under 10 minutes from signup. Auto-attendant and team users configured: typically same day. If you're porting a number from another carrier, the cutover happens 1–3 business days later (or 5–7 for toll-free) — but you can be live and taking calls on a temporary number from minute one.
No. Most voip.army customers use the iOS/Android mobile app and the Mac/Windows desktop app and never buy a desk phone. If you prefer physical handsets — common in healthcare, professional services, and retail — we sell pre-configured Yealink and Grandstream phones from $59 to $289. Existing SIP phones from Avaya, Mitel, NEC, Panasonic, Allworx, and others can often be reflashed for free. See phones.
Yes. Every phone in our catalog is available to rent month-to-month, no commitment. Pricing is tiered by phone tier: $7.99/mo entry-level (T31P, GXP1625-class), $11.99/mo mid-range (T46U-class), $17.99/mo executive (T58W, DECT bundles), $24.99/mo premium conference units (CP965, Trio 8800). The phone ships pre-configured the same as a purchase, warranty replacement is included, and if you cancel you ship it back in the prepaid return box. See all 119 phones — each detail page shows both buy and rent prices side-by-side.
Roughly 100 Kbps per concurrent call. A 5-person office where everyone might be on a call simultaneously needs only ~500 Kbps total — well within any cable, fiber, or even mid-tier DSL connection. For a busier office of 20 concurrent calls, plan for ~2 Mbps. We provide a free network test tool, and we can set up automatic failover to LTE/5G if your primary internet drops.
Inbound calls automatically reroute — by default, to voicemail with email notification; optionally to a configured cell number, a different office line, or an answering service. The mobile app keeps working over LTE/5G regardless of your office internet. For Pro customers with high-availability needs, we provide automatic LTE failover hardware that keeps the office online during outages.

Features & functionality

Every plan includes: unlimited US/Canada calling, mobile + desktop apps, voicemail-to-email with AI transcripts, business hours / holiday routing, e911, free number porting, end-to-end encryption, SOC 2 compliance, and US-based support. Business adds: multi-level auto-attendant, ring groups, call queues, business SMS/MMS, call recording (90 days), live analytics dashboard. Pro adds: multi-location routing, HIPAA + BAA, 7-year recording retention, API/webhooks, dedicated account manager, priority 24/7 support. Full feature list.
An auto-attendant is the recorded menu that answers your main line ("Press 1 for appointments, 2 for billing, 0 to reach the operator"). You can build it with multiple levels, route by time of day or day of week, set up different menus for holidays, and use your own voice talent or one of our included professional recordings. Most customers configure their first auto-attendant in under 20 minutes through the admin portal.
Yes — that's what ring groups and call queues are for. Configure calls to a single number to ring all team members at once, in turn (round-robin), or in a priority order, on their desk phones, mobile apps, and desktop apps simultaneously. Call queues add hold-with-music and callback options. Included on Business and Pro plans.
Yes. Our iOS and Android apps let your team take and place calls from their cell phones using your business number — caller ID shows your business line, not their personal cell. Texts (SMS/MMS) also work from the same number. The app is included on every plan.
Yes. Business SMS and MMS are included on Business and Pro plans. Customers can text your business number; you can text them back; your team can send appointment reminders, confirmations, and quick replies — all from the mobile or desktop app, no personal cell phones involved. Multi-party SMS conversations are supported.
Every voicemail is delivered to email as both an audio file and a typed AI transcript, so you can read it on your phone or computer without listening. You can also access voicemail from the app or from any phone by calling your number and pressing *. Voicemail boxes can be per-user, per-extension, per-department, or per-time-of-day.
Yes if you turn it on. Call recording is available on Business (90-day retention) and Pro (7-year retention). You can record all calls, calls to specific extensions, or trigger recording manually. Recordings are stored encrypted, accessible from the admin portal, and can be exported. State call-recording laws apply (some states require all-party consent — we provide compliant announcement messages).
No — we don't try to compete with Zoom and Google Meet. Most of our customers already use one of those for video, and we'd rather you keep using the one your team likes than make you switch. We integrate with Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams so calendar invites and click-to-join work seamlessly.

Compliance & security

Yes, on the Pro plan with a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA). Voicemail and call recording storage is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3), access is role-based and audit-logged, and we maintain SOC 2 Type II compliance. Used by 400+ medical practices and 600+ dental practices. The BAA is included with Pro at no extra charge.
Yes. e911 is automatically configured for every voip.army number, with the registered service address dispatched when a user dials 911. For mobile app users, the app uses device location with user permission. Kari's Law and RAY BAUM's Act requirements (direct 911 dial, on-site notification) are supported out of the box.
SOC 2 Type II audited annually. Underlying carrier infrastructure (Beneffy Telecom) operates across multiple US data centers with N+1 redundancy. End-to-end encryption (TLS 1.3 SRTP) on every call. Available on request: our SOC 2 report (under NDA), penetration test summary, and information security policies.

Integrations

Yes — Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zoho, Microsoft Dynamics, Follow Up Boss, kvCORE, AMS360, Applied Epic, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, ConnectWise, Autotask, and more. Native integrations on Business plan; Zapier connects to thousands more. API + webhooks on Pro for custom workflows.
Yes. Browser extension for Chrome and Firefox makes any phone number on any webpage clickable. Native click-to-call inside Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zoho, and supported vertical software. Calls placed this way route through your business line; the customer sees your business caller ID.
Yes — REST API on the Pro plan. Webhooks for incoming calls, voicemails, SMS, and call status changes. Used by customers to auto-create CRM records on incoming calls, sync call data to BI tools, build custom dashboards, and trigger workflows in Zapier / n8n / Make.

Migration & switching

We do this every week. Free migration assistance: we audit your existing system, mirror your dial plan inside voip.army before any cutover, port your numbers for free, rehome SIP-capable handsets where the vendor allows, and decommission the old box. Your existing PBX stays operational the entire time. Most small migrations complete in 1–2 weeks. See the migration hub.
Easier than migrating from a legacy PBX, because the numbers are already digital. We port for free, rebuild your dial plan from a 1-page config checklist you complete in admin, and walk your team through the new app on a free onboarding call. Most cloud-to-cloud migrations finish in under 2 weeks. See cloud VoIP comparisons.
