What's the difference between VVX 300 and VVX 310?

Just the Ethernet ports. The 310 has dual gigabit (10/100/1000); the 300 is dual 10/100. Display, line keys, audio, codecs, dimensions — all identical.

Should I buy a VVX 310 or VVX 350?

For new deployments, the VVX 350 is the better buy: same gigabit, plus two USB ports for headsets and dongles, plus a faster processor and current firmware track. The 310 we carry mostly for fleet continuity.

Does the VVX 310 have a color display?

No — it's greyscale 208×104. The color version of this chassis is the VVX 311; the gigabit-color combo from the same era is the VVX 311.

Does the VVX 310 support an expansion module?

Yes — the VVX EXP 50 connects via the back RJ45 port. Each module adds 28 multi-color keys across three pages, and you can chain up to three off a single phone.

Why the VVX 310 is on the catalog.

The VVX 310 was Polycom's answer to a complaint they kept hearing in the early VVX years: customers loved the six-line layout of the 300, but didn't want a 100 Mbps choke point in front of their workstations. The 310 is the same phone with gigabit Ethernet on both ports. Everything else — display, line keys, dialpad, audio — is identical.

We still ship it for fleet continuity, but for new orders the direct equivalent in the current lineup is the VVX 311 (refreshed processor, same gigabit, same form factor) or the VVX 350 (gigabit, USB, refreshed UCS track).

Where it isn't the right phone: if you don't need gigabit, the VVX 300 saves you $20 with no other downside. If you need USB for a headset or Wi-Fi dongle, the 310 doesn't have it — step up to the VVX 350.
