Is the SoundPoint IP 450 still supported on voip.army?

Yes — UCS firmware 4.0.15 on our legacy provisioning VLAN. Call media works normally; provisioning stays on an isolated network.

Can I still buy SoundPoint IP 450 new?

No — Polycom EOL'd it in 2015. Our inventory is refurbished/pre-owned, tested, re-flashed, and cosmetically cleaned.

What's the upgrade path for a 450 fleet?

The Poly VVX 250 (four lines, color, gigabit, current firmware) is the natural step up. The VVX 350 (six lines, USB, gigabit) is the upgrade if anyone in the team has grown to need more line keys.

Why we still support the SoundPoint IP 450.

The SoundPoint IP 450 took the 430's compact chassis and added a third SIP line. For small offices where two lines was just one short of useful — running a personal extension, a queue, and a shared sales line — this was the right pick. Released 2009, EOL'd 2015.

Mechanically it's identical to the 430 except for the line key layout and a slightly larger 132×64 display to accommodate the extra line. Same HD voice audio path, same dimensions, same provisioning flow.

For existing fleets, the 450 onboards onto voip.army's legacy provisioning VLAN. For new orders the closest equivalent is the VVX 150 (two-line) or VVX 250 (four-line) — neither is a perfect match for the 450's three-line layout, but the VVX 250's four lines and color screen are a strict upgrade for not much more money.

How it works on voip.army.

The SoundPoint IP 450 runs Polycom UCS firmware 4.0.15 — the last release that supports this hardware. It onboards onto voip.army the same way as any current phone, just on our legacy provisioning VLAN because the phone's TLS stack predates modern web standards. Call quality is normal SRTP.
