The VVX 601 is Poly's executive-tier touch desk phone — a 4.3-inch capacitive color TFT, sixteen SIP lines, gigabit Ethernet on both ports, dual USB, built-in Bluetooth, and the highest-end audio path in the VVX family. The phone we ship to CEOs, partners, and anyone whose desk is also part of the office's visual impression.
The VVX 601 is the top of the VVX line — a larger 4.3-inch touchscreen than the 501, sixteen SIP lines instead of twelve, gigabit Ethernet on both ports, two USB ports (front and back), and crucially built-in Bluetooth so you can pair an executive headset without a dongle hanging off the back of the phone.
It's an unapologetically nice phone. The handset has a slightly heavier-grade transducer, the speakerphone is tuned a little hotter, and the touchscreen is fast enough that the swipe-through-pages interaction model actually feels good. None of that is essential, but if the phone is going on a CEO's desk and is visible to clients walking into the office, the 601 looks the part.
Where it isn't the right phone: for almost any non-executive desk, the VVX 450 (non-touch, color, gigabit, dual USB, twelve lines) does ninety percent of what the 601 does for $130 less, and most heavy users learn the hard keys and rarely touch the screen anyway. Specify the 601 deliberately, not by default.

Plug the VVX 601 into PoE and ethernet. About a minute later it has registered to your extension. Same auto-provisioning flow as every other supported phone — no SIP credentials to type, no firmware to chase.
Boot, fetch config from our provisioning server, register, ready. About one minute on a normal internet connection.
Run up to 16 simultaneous SIP registrations. Each line key has a dual-color LED for status.
